Squid jig manufacturers

When sourcing squid jigs, prioritize the sink rate (measured in seconds per meter) to ensure it matches the target water depth. Look for double-layer stainless steel umbrella hooks that are rust-resistant and needle-sharp for high hook-up rates. The body should feature high-quality thermal cloth covering (warm jacket technology) which mimics prey body temperature, and 3D luminous eyes or UV-reactive (Keimura) coatings to increase visibility in low-light or deep-water conditions.

A premium jig must have a perfect 45-degree sinking angle. You should request suppliers to provide video evidence of tank testing. The external lead sinker should be securely attached and aerodynamically shaped to prevent snagging while ensuring a stable 'darting' action when the rod is jerked. Internal rattle beads are an added advantage for attracting squid through sonic vibrations.

Ensure the materials comply with environmental regulations such as REACH or RoHS, especially regarding lead content in sinkers. For the North American market, check for Prop 65 warnings if applicable. It is vital to confirm that the luminous pigments used are non-toxic and have a long-lasting glow duration (at least 15-30 minutes after light exposure).

Procurement should be categorized by environment: Shallow type (Slow sink) for rocky shores, Deep type (Fast sink) for boat fishing or strong currents, and Rattle types for murky water. For professional anglers, sourcing a variety of sizes (2.5#, 3.0#, 3.5#) is essential to match the seasonal growth of the squid.

The biggest risk is inconsistent buoyancy across mass-produced batches, leading to jigs that sink too fast or tilt. Another risk is low-quality adhesive used on the cloth covering, which may peel after exposure to saltwater. To mitigate this, always use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services and request a Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify the glue integrity and hook sharpness.

Focus on OEM/ODM customization capabilities. Negotiate for custom color patterns (Glow/UV) exclusive to your brand, which adds market value. Ask for tiered pricing where the MOQ starts low (e.g., 500 pcs) but drops significantly at 5,000+ pcs. Requesting free spare hooks or specialized packaging can also be a high-value negotiation point without increasing the unit price.

Squid jigs are relatively high-value but low-volume. For initial stock, Air Freight or Express (DHL/FedEx) is suitable for fast market entry. For bulk replenishment, Sea Freight (LCL) is most cost-effective. Ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof inner packaging and reinforced outer cartons to prevent the sharp hooks from piercing the packaging during transit.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone third-party verification by SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Use Escrow-based payment methods to ensure funds are only released once the Bill of Lading (B/L) is confirmed. Always verify the supplier's export license and their history of shipping to your specific region to avoid customs clearance delays.
