Metal corner manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Stainless Steel (304 or 316) for corrosion resistance, Carbon Steel for high-strength structural applications, or Aluminum Alloy for lightweight needs. Ensure the thickness (gauge) matches the load-bearing requirements; for heavy-duty industrial crates, a thickness of ≥2.0mm is recommended, while decorative furniture corners typically range from 0.5mm to 1.2mm.

For outdoor or high-moisture environments, Hot-Dip Galvanizing or Electro-Galvanizing provides superior rust protection. For decorative purposes, Electroplating (Chrome, Nickel, or Brass) offers a premium finish. If color matching is required, Powder Coating is the most durable option as it resists chipping and scratching better than liquid paint.

Ensure the supplier holds an ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management. For structural components, request Material Test Reports (MTRs) to verify chemical composition and tensile strength. If the corners are used in construction, check for CE marking (EN 1090) or ASTM standards to ensure safety and regulatory alignment.

Request technical drawings (CAD/PDF) from the supplier to verify hole diameters, pitch, and bend angles. A tolerance level of ±0.1mm to ±0.5mm is standard for precision stamping. For custom projects, it is highly recommended to order a physical sample to test the fit and finish before committing to a bulk production run.

Implement a Third-Party Inspection (TPI) before the final payment. Instruct the inspector to perform a Salt Spray Test to verify corrosion resistance and a Hardness Test to ensure the metal grade matches the specification. Using Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services can also provide a layer of financial protection.

Negotiate based on raw material index pricing (e.g., LME steel prices) to ensure transparency. Offer a forecasted annual volume rather than a single order to secure Tier-1 bulk discounts, which can reduce unit costs by 10-20%. Additionally, discuss tooling/mold fee amortization if you are ordering custom-designed corners.

Metal products are prone to rust during sea freight due to humidity. Insist on VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) packaging or vacuum sealing. Ensure the outer cartons are double-walled corrugated boxes and palletized with plastic wrap and corner protectors to prevent deformation during heavy handling at the port.

Check the HS Code (typically 8302.41 or 7326.90) for your specific product to determine import duties. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that some countries impose on Chinese steel products. Always calculate the Landed Cost, including freight, insurance, and local taxes, rather than relying solely on the FOB price.
