For premium retail environments, prioritize 304 stainless steel or high-quality carbon steel with electroplated finishes (such as brushed gold or polished chrome) to ensure rust resistance and a luxury aesthetic. Ensure the base weight is sufficient (typically 1.5kg to 2.5kg) to prevent tipping when displaying heavy leather bags. The inclusion of non-slip EVA or felt padding on the bottom is essential to protect countertop surfaces.

Look for stands with a telescopic height adjustment feature, usually ranging from 400mm to 700mm, to accommodate different bag lengths from clutches to tote bags. The hook design should be wide enough (at least 30mm-50mm) to prevent creasing or damaging the leather straps of the handbags. Verify that the locking mechanism (thumb screws or friction locks) is durable enough for frequent adjustments in a busy retail setting.

Ensure the supplier adheres to ISO 9001 for quality management. For the surface treatment, request Salt Spray Test reports (typically 24 to 48 hours) to guarantee the plating won't peel or corrode in humid environments. If the stands are used in the EU or US, confirm that the coatings are Lead-free and comply with REACH or RoHS standards to meet safety regulations.

Most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. You can request laser-engraved logos on the base or silk-screen printing. For large-scale procurement, you can also customize the hook shape (single vs. double hook) and the base geometry (round, square, or hexagonal) to align with your brand's visual identity.

The biggest risks are surface scratching and structural bending during transit. Insist on individual bubble wrap packaging for each component and the use of 5-layer corrugated export cartons. For bulk sea freight, ensure the use of pallets to minimize manual handling shocks. Always clarify the incoterms (e.g., FOB or CIF) to define where the risk transfers from the seller to the buyer.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are shipped. Before placing a large order, conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that the quantity and quality match your specifications.

Negotiate based on volume tiers; typically, a jump from 100 to 500 units can reduce the unit price by 15-20%. Discuss packaging optimization to reduce volumetric weight, which lowers shipping costs. If you are a repeat buyer, negotiate for better payment terms, such as a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L), rather than 100% upfront.

Identify the correct HS Code (typically 7326.90 for other articles of iron/steel or 8302.50 for hat-racks/brackets). Check the Most Favored Nation (MFN) tariff rates between your country and China. Be aware of any anti-dumping duties that might apply to specific metal products in your region to avoid unexpected costs at the border.
