Chery engine manufacturers

When sourcing Chery engines, particularly the ACTECO series, buyers must verify the displacement (ranging from 0.8L to 2.0L), aspiration type (Natural vs. Turbocharged), and emission standards (Euro IV, V, or VI). It is critical to confirm the engine assembly weight, maximum torque (Nm/rpm), and rated power (kW/rpm) to ensure compatibility with the target vehicle or industrial equipment. For high-performance needs, prioritize the 1.6TGDI or 2.0TGDI models which feature direct injection and dual VVT technology.

To guarantee quality, always request the Engine Identification Number (EIN) and verify it against Chery’s official database. Ensure the supplier provides a factory test report covering oil pressure, compression ratios, and noise levels. Look for suppliers on Made-in-China.com who hold ISO/TS 16949 certification, which is the global standard for automotive quality management systems. Additionally, check for genuine holographic seals on critical components like the ECU and cylinder head.

While primarily designed for sedans and SUVs (like the Tiggo and Arrizo series), Chery engines are widely used in Generator Sets (Gensets), All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs/UTVs), and small marine vessels. When purchasing for non-automotive use, ensure the cooling system and flywheel housing are compatible with industrial SAE standards or that the supplier can provide customized mounting brackets.

Compliance varies by region: for the European Union, engines must meet REACH and CE marking requirements; for the United States, EPA or CARB certification is mandatory for emissions. Buyers should also ensure the product complies with UN ECE R10 for electromagnetic compatibility if the engine includes integrated electronic control units.

The biggest risks include damage during transit and receiving refurbished units disguised as new. Mitigate this by using Trade Assurance services on Made-in-China.com to secure your payment. Insist on heavy-duty fumigated wooden crate packaging with anti-rust VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) bags to prevent saltwater corrosion during sea freight. Always hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a pre-shipment inspection.

Engine pricing is highly sensitive to volume. For bulk orders (10+ units), you can typically negotiate a 10-15% discount. If you are a repair shop needing a low MOQ (1-2 units), focus on negotiating the warranty period (aim for 12-24 months) rather than the unit price. Ask for bundled pricing that includes the wiring harness, ECU, and gearbox to reduce total landed costs.

Engines are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods if they contain residual fuel or oil. Ensure the supplier provides a Non-Hazardous Goods Certificate by thoroughly draining all fluids. For shipping to regions like Africa or South America, use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over the shipping line, as specialized heavy-lift vessels may be required. Ensure the HS Code (typically 8407 or 8408) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays and incorrect tariff applications.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site verification by independent inspection companies. Review their Business License, Export License, and years of operation. A supplier with a high 'Star Rating' and a history of exporting to your specific region is more likely to understand your local customs requirements and technical standards.
