Metal air conditioner covers manufacturers

When sourcing metal covers, the primary concern is corrosion resistance. You should prioritize Aluminum Alloy (6063-T5) or Galvanized Steel with a powder-coated finish. Aluminum is preferred for its lightweight properties and rust-proof nature, while galvanized steel offers superior impact resistance. Ensure the coating is UV-resistant to prevent fading and peeling under direct sunlight.

The design must prioritize airflow and heat dissipation. Look for covers with louvered slats or perforated patterns that provide at least 70% open area. Insufficient ventilation can cause the compressor to overheat, leading to system failure and voided warranties. Always verify the spacing between slats meets the HVAC manufacturer's clearance requirements.

For the US market, ensure the metal and coating comply with ASTM B117 (Salt Spray Test) to guarantee durability in coastal areas. For European markets, check for REACH and RoHS compliance regarding the chemical composition of the powder coating. If the cover includes integrated electrical components (like lighting), CE or UL certification is mandatory.

Yes, most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. You should provide CAD or BIM drawings to ensure precise fitment. Key customization options include custom dimensions, RAL color matching, and modular designs that allow for easy assembly on-site. Request a prototype sample to test the structural integrity before mass production.

Metal covers are prone to bending and scratching. Insist on Five-Layer Corrugated Cartons with EPE foam edge protectors and vacuum-sealed plastic wrapping. For bulk LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, require wooden palletization or crating to prevent compression damage from other cargo.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Instead of just the unit price, negotiate based on raw material price indexing (especially for aluminum) and volume-based discounts. Professional buyers often secure a 5-10% discount by committing to an annual volume or by using Incoterms like FOB to maintain control over freight costs.

Utilize secure payment escrow services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Never pay 100% upfront; a standard 30/70 payment term (30% deposit, 70% balance after inspection but before shipment) is recommended. Always conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) via a third-party agency to verify quality and quantity.

Due to the high volume-to-weight ratio, shipping costs can be high. Choose KD (Knock-Down) packaging designs that allow the covers to be shipped flat, significantly reducing ocean freight costs. For the US, be aware of Anti-Dumping duties on certain aluminum extrusions; always check the HS Code (typically 7616.99 or 7326.90) with a customs broker beforehand.
